Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem

By Andrew Selvaraj

Feeling good about us is absolutely key to success and happiness in any relationship. The old cliche that we need to learn to love ourselves before others can love us is never truer than when we are dating. Our levels of confidence and self-esteem vary throughout our lives and while the truly shy people amongst us have a tougher time than most when dating, even the person brimming with confidence experiences self-doubt and first-date nerves. This chapter helps you to take a look at yourself, assess your own levels of self-confidence and suggests ways you can work on those areas of yourself which cause you most concern. Topics include: Improving your own level of self-esteem, Giving yourself time and space, The power of positive thinking, Natural self-confidence, The ten key qualities of self-confident people, Overcoming shyness, Dependency and Sexual self-confidence.

CommunicationCommunication is not just about knowing what to say and when to say it, it is also about listening and responding to people in the most effective and productive way. While some people find this as natural as breathing, most of us have problems communicating at certain times, especially when on a first date or when we're out to impress. This chapter provides some advice on getting those all-important early impressions right. Topics include: Effective listening, Making an approach, Do's and don'ts of first contact, Are you a good communicator? Communication after the first date.

Compatibility What makes us compatible with someone else? What is it - beyond simply having interests or friends in common - that makes one guy so right for us while another is so obviously wrong? This chapter looks at the individual elements that make up compatibility and how you can learn to recognize the signs that will work best for you. Topics include: Chemistry, Looks, Sex appeal, How compatible are you? A compatibility test, Using star signs to assess, compatibility.

Venus and Mars While there are obvious differences - emotionally and physically - between men and women, it is unhelpful for us to look at the opposite sex as aliens from another planet.
We are a mixture of our upbringing and our genetic make-up: the familiar nature versus nurture argument, and we differ hugely as individuals regardless of our sex. However, there are some fundamental differences between the sexes that are worth knowing about, so that you can stay one step ahead in the dating game. Topics include: Dating, The male's eye view of the first date, The female's eye view of the first date, The alternative 'Rules', Communication, Misunderstanding body language, Emotions and How we cope with stress.

Flirt Mode Flirting is about both 'flirter' and 'flirtee' feeling good. It's fun, entertaining and can range from being an almost innocent pastime to being deliciously naughty. And the great news is that we can all learn to flirt with ease and find the level that feels comfortable for us. It's just another method of communication. Topics include: The joy of flirting, Flirt mode or friend mode? Grabbing his attention, being a natural flirt, using your voice, learning to flirt and Successful flirting.

Body Language Body language speaks volumes about our attitudes, behaviors and responses. Whatever we may say, if we are not being honest, our body language will give us away. Body language is made up of non-verbal gestures, postures and expressions and this chapter will give you some surprising insights into what you and your date may be really 'saying' to each other.

Topics include: The way we communicate, Positive body language signs, Negative body language signs, First, second or third date body language, Your body language style, Changing your body language. Choosing right and life partner is the one that comes much headache for us.
